My ball python ate for the first time in 5 months just to find he regurgitated it today. what does this mean?

the ball python hasnt eaten since i got him 5 months ago but he finally ate yesterday and i came home to find he threw it up. i dont know why? he hasnt been acting sick in any way besides not eating.
